The Art Workshop of New Jersey was seeking out a designer to create a mark that would better display their business, which is centered around children, artists, and musicians. While trying to combine the concepts of music, art and learning, I came up with a series of logos. Using gestalt and abstract shapes within other shapes, I came up with a series of marks that could be interpreted in a few different ways. The goal of this piece was to maintain the original qualities of the traditional album, while also adding a modern twist. Using my geometric and minimalist style of design, I put a spin on their trademark. I used watercolors and rustic textures to mimic what I believe it would feel like to be on the moon. Since this album is arguably one of their more well-known albums, I didn’t think it would be right to remove their legendary triangle, so instead I made it the subject of the album.
